Why We Built This Site
Minnesota makes a good deal of warrant-related information available, and the hard part is knowing which office holds the piece you want. A warrant is not kept in one place. The District Court that issues an order also sets the charge and the bond, while the Douglas County Sheriff's Office serves it and can say whether it is still outstanding. A bench warrant for a missed court date stays with the court that set the case.
Minnesota adds its own wrinkle. The state does not offer one public warrant search that covers every court and agency, and MNJIS is a law-enforcement product rather than a public portal. A reader who checks a single office, finds nothing, and stops has learned very little. The contact details, search routes, warrant-number formats, and request steps for each office are gathered here so a search can begin in the right spot.
What You Will Find Here
- Warrant lookups: how to run a warrant lookup by name and case number through the sheriff and the courts
- Outstanding warrants: how to check outstanding warrants and what a published entry actually confirms
- Missed court dates: how bench warrants arise and which court holds them
- Charge-based orders: how arrest warrants are issued and served in Douglas County
- Resolving an order: the lawful routes to resolution, from counsel and a motion to bond and a surrender
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to any Minnesota court, sheriff's office, or state agency. The limits are real and worth stating plainly:
- We cannot run an official warrant check or confirm whether a warrant exists for anyone
- We cannot remove, recall, quash, or clear a warrant in any system
- We cannot post bond or accept any payment toward a warrant
- We cannot arrange a surrender, a hearing, or a court appearance
- We cannot give legal advice or say how a warrant applies to a specific person
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or published entry on this site is current at this moment
Only the court that issued the order or the sheriff's office that holds it can confirm whether a warrant exists and whether it has been recalled, served, or cleared. This site can point to the right office, and the answer has to come from that office.
Search Partners
Some pages here include search boxes supplied by outside providers. Those companies set their own prices and run their own services. When one of those tools leads to a paid signup, this site may earn a referral fee, and that revenue helps keep the pages free to read. Those tools are not official warrant checks, and their data is not a substitute for the court or the sheriff.
